Everyone has their favorite holiday traditions. It’s something friends and families look forward to the most during the season. One thing that Team CHIC holds near and dear to our hearts is apple cider! What is better than a big ‘ole pot of hot, cinnamony, sugary goodness?! We always look forward to bringing in a big batch to share within the office once our Florida temperatures finally drop low enough to enjoy it (which usually only last for about 5 minutes. So drink it quick, fellow Floridians!) Here is one of our favorite homemade apple cider recipes that we think you’re going to Fa-La-La-LOVE.

Homemade CHIC Cider
What you will need:
- 10 apples, quartered
- Water (eyeball it – we trust you.)
- 1 ½ tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 ½ tablespoon ground allspice
- 3/4 cup white sugar
Instructions:
Place your quartered apples in a large pot. Add enough water to cover the apples by about 2 inches. Next, stir in cinnamon, allspice, and sugar. Bring the mixture to a boil. Continue to boil uncovered for 1 hour. Cover the pot and reduce to a simmer for another 2 hours.
Strain the apple mixture though a fine mesh sieve. Discard apple chunks. Line mesh sieve with a cheesecloth and drain cider once more. Serve warm or refrigerate until cold.
TIP: Keep your apple cider HOT for hours by keeping it in a crockpot!
There you have it! Seriously, guys. This recipe doesn’t get any easier. And the end result will have everyone begging you for more! It’s definitely the kind of recipe that you’ll be able to put on the stove and forget about for a little bit while answering emails (and we could all use a recipe like this during busy season, amiright?!)
Whether you need a quick go-to recipe to contribute for a holiday party or you’re just snuggling up by a fire with family, CHIC welcomes you to start a new apple cider tradition of your own this season! Cheers!
