Gathering family and friends around the table for the holidays is a time to be cherished. But let’s face it – you’ve got enough on your plate with the cooking, the cleaning…*cough* (the in-laws) *cough*. Let CHIC alleviate some of that stress by making your holidays more comfortable with these tips and tricks.
Know When It’s Time To Rent A Table

Let’s be honest – Not all of us own a large enough dining table or enough chairs to accommodate our entire holiday guest list. Don’t let your loved ones resort to eating at the “kid’s table” in order to snag a seat! Large groups can be tough, so utilize rentals to your advantage. The best part is you’ll be able to switch up your design inspiration every year and you won’t have to worry about where to store the extra furniture. It’s a win/win! But make sure you plan ahead. The holidays are a busy time, and you want to make sure you score the perfect table for your family to gather.
Dining Table Spacing Tips

When considering table space, people tend to focus on length (which makes sense, because that is the driving factor in how many guests can sit at each table). But when we’re designing our dining tables, we like to add generous width, as well. Why? Many pros recommend between 23-30 inches per place-setting. Our tables not only allow comfortable spacing for 6-8 people, they also leave enough room for beautiful centerpieces and floral arrangements. Better yet, they allow room for family-style meals – which are not only super trendy right now, but perfect for the holidays.
Not All Dining Chairs Are Created Equal!
When considering renting extra chairs for holiday events, many will resort to a standard wood folding chair. They’re cheap and they get the job done…
…So you think! Sitting on a hard surface for an extended period of time can be straining on your shoulders, legs, and back, especially for our older family members. Rent a higher quality chair with built in seat and back cushions so that your guests stay comfortable for the entire meal. Trust us, your dad won’t be running to the La-Z-Boy in search of relief before dessert. He might even stay for another glass of wine!
